Artist and professor, Walid Raad, uses his art to challenge our preconceptions about the “facticity” of photography and video. His documentation of the history of wars in Lebanon precipitated his move to the United States. In this short film, the “extremely photophobic” Raad gives us an overview of his work, and introduces the concept that we can live through an experience without actually experiencing it.
