For Freedoms became the first artist-run Super PAC in the United States when co-founders Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman decided to create a platform that would enable artists to use their work to inspire deeper political engagement in an increasingly disengaged time. Using photography, film, video, digital media and, of all things, billboard advertising, For Freedoms encourages artists and citizens to make a greater contribution to, and impact on, the American political landscape.
