Sofia Arivilca was homeless for most of her 64 years. Born in the highlands of Peru, she was dragged from place to place by her father. Rejected by family, she accepted the kindness of neighbors, and learned about the Heifer International Healthy Homes program. With the assistance of Heifer Peru, Sofia received the tools she needed to build her first real home. She has gone from being homeless to being a leader among women in her community.
